DENTAL ILLNESSES BREAK OUT IN MONZE'S MASAMBA AREA

By Brian Hantuba
Masamba Headman Milner Mukonde has begged the Monze District Health Office to offer mobile dental health care services in view of prevalent dental illnesses in his village.
He tells Byta FM News that hundreds of people in his community have been complaining of conditions such as toothaches, some of whom are in urgent need of tooth extraction.

Masamba says the cost of having the procedure done in addition to transportation costs to Monze Township totals to about K250 which is beyond the means of some of his people.
He therefore requests the Ministry of Health in the District to consider carrying out occasional mobile dental health care services to help address the challenge.
But Monze District Health Promotions Officer, Jane Yeyenga has advised the traditional leader to engage his local neighborhood health committee to lobby for the service to be provided.
She says the mobile dental health care could be brought to the nearest clinic or school if requested for, saying the health department aims to bring services closer to the community.
