 SHOPRITE ZAMBIA TO REDUCE COMMODITY PRICES

ShopRite Zambia Managing Director Charles Botha has projected a reduction in commodity prices stocked by the chain store due to the continued appreciation of the kwacha against other convertible currencies.

Mr. Botha has disclosed that the chain store is meeting with its suppliers with a view to reduce prices of commodities and that so far, some have committed.

He says ShopRite wants to ensure it passes on the benefits of the kwacha appreciation to consumers and has assured consumers that they will start seeing reduction in prices soon after seven of the major suppliers who mainly import the commodities were engaged.

Mr. Botha spoke to Phoenix Business News.
